Cuvettes are tube-like containers used to hold samples for spectroscopic analysis that delivers accurate and reliable results. They are made from quartz, plastic, polycarbonates or glass in various sizes and are scratch-resistant. Disposable cuvettes are preferred to prevent carry over of samples. Quartz cuvettes are specifically used for measuring absorbance in the UV range and plastic cuvettes for the visible light path range. All cuvettes and cells are provided in matched sets and available with fitted covers, plugs, screw caps, anaerobic screw caps, graded seals and flow through ports.

  • These cuvettes are made from Optical Glass which is suitable for transmission wavelengths from 340nm to 2,500nm and are available in a range of path lengths.
  • Shorter and longer path length options are also available.
  • These have the same specifications as CUV-QUARTZ but have four polished windows.
  • We understand today's need of high quality supplies for your laboratory and that laboratories are in a budget, so we provide you quality cells at a very affordable price.

For fluorescence measurements, two more transparent sides, at right angles to those used for the spectrophotometer light, are needed for the excitation light. Some cuvettes have a glass or plastic cap for use with hazardous solutions, or to protect samples from air. Reusable cells are expensive to buy, are easily broken , and must be thoroughly washed between each use.

Industrial Solutions

From scientific discovery to scale-up and commercial delivery, Avantor offers mission-critical products, services and solutions on a global scale. Scroll below and purchase from the drop down menu by cuvette or cell type listed in numerical order. The outside dimensions of cuvettes can vary depending on the cell material and construction type, but a "10 mm cuvette" is 10 mm internally. The fused cell with high quality does not affect the surface quality during fire fusing. The connected sides are highly transparent with a nice exterior and greatly promote the rate of products with high quality. We are your best option against other companies like NSG, Spectrocell or Hellma.

Before the rectangular cuvette was created, ordinary test tubes were used. As innovation motivated changes in technique, cuvettes were constructed to have focal points over ordinary test tubes. "Tandem cuvettes" have a glass barrier medium that extends two-thirds of the way up in the middle, so that measurements can be taken with two solutions separated and again when they are mixed.

Consider how different sizes and optical materials will influence your processes and choose the appropriate type to get precise results. The cuvette must match your application to yield accurate information on concentration and purity. In order to choose one, the specific use and equipment have to be defined. For example, plastic may not be efficient for UV-range experiments, but it is a cost-effective alternative for all the visible light studies. Plastic cuvettes are often used in fast spectroscopic assays, where high speed is more important than high accuracy. Plastic cuvettes with a usable wavelength range of 380–780nm may be disposed of after use, preventing contamination from re-use.

From India are trusted with supplying cuvettes and cells to universities, research establishments and leading commercial organisations worldwide. We offer a full range of high quality cuvettes and cells for use in a wide range of applications and instruments including the Spectrophotometer, Fluorometer, Tintometer and the Polarimeter. Nest Scientific Standard and UV Cuvettes are made from either Polystyrene or optical UV-transparent materials.
