The Apple Watch Series 7 improves upon the excellent health features of its predecessors and comes with a lavish new display. I'm PCMag's expert on fitness and smart home technology, and I've written more than 6,000 articles and reviews in the 10-plus years I've been here. I unbox, set up, test, and review a wide range of consumer tech products from my home in Florida, often with the help of my pitbull Bradley. I'm also a yoga instructor, and have been actively teaching group and private classes for nearly a decade. I’m PCMag’s executive editor of reviews, steering our coverage to make Soundbar sure we're testing the products you're interested in buying and telling you whether they're worth it. I previously managed the consumer electronics reviews team, and before that I covered mobile, smart home, and wearable technology for PCMag and Gigaom.

The Apple Watch SE is a hybrid of the Apple Watch Series 5 and the Apple Watch Series 3. The $279 smartwatch doesn't have all the Series 6's features, but still stands out for its speedy chip and safety features. Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic
This won't stop any smartwatch from working, but it does mean you should think carefully about buying a model with the new software if you plan to keep it for several years. Google and Samsung teamed up to create a software operating system for wearables, called Wear, also referred to as Wear OS 3. The joint project incorporates both the Wear OS and Tizen platforms, along with fitness expertise from Fitbit. The first smartwatches with the software are the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The GBD-200 uses a single internal battery which should last for about a year before it needs replacing — if you use the Bluetooth connection all the time and track an hour of activity each day. It gets the balance between design and technology just right and is a great choice for a hybrid smartwatch.
